Plum Tree

Heady-scented, pollen-laden whimsy on a twig;

Springtime dream of dream begotten,

Boutonniere-ish sprig.

Impish eyebrow-arching satyr, satire come undone;

Of lofty things, canst be persuaded –

Thy ending

is

a

plum.

  1. I love the way you combine the visual with the power of poetry. The words act as second pictures they are so carefully chosen.

  2. I love the way you combine words with the image. The poetry brings to life a second picture or set of pictures they are so carefully chosen.

      Thanks so much, Ivon! By the way – If this is the second reply to your comment, disregard me. I thought I had replied already and my dashboard argues with me. Two are better than none, right? 🙂 )

  3. We used to have a plum tree but I don’t remember the flowers like that, they remind me of cherry blossom, but isn’t that prunus anyway???? Just without the plums.

  4. This is a very nice way to describe it: “pollen-laden whimsy on a twig”. The word “whimsy” is perfect.
