The Missing Link

I see you there, open to possibilities, embracing with wild abandon whatever Destiny would bring your way this day, courage marking your  alabaster brow. I am curious. I see you there,

open to possibilities,

embracing with wild abandon

whatever Destiny would bring your way this day,

courage marking your  alabaster brow.

I am curious.

I lean in,

seeking the answer in your lines,

connecting your dots to determine

the sum of your bravado.

Too close, I am seared by your breathy dust.

I know it clings to my skin

but I let it be;

perhaps your pollen

will meld and morph my DNA,

alter my ego,

help me to forge

that missing link between

what I am

and what I was born to be…

This one really speaks to me today…I am going to take a bold step that I believe the Lord wants me to do. Thy will be done! May I be powdered with the pollen of the Spirit… ~ Wendy

Amen! You know Who’s got your back!

This is Great, Melody–I love that it is “courage” which marks the brow, as usually we think of worry or some other negative connotation. Great job–God bless you–love, Caddo

I’m so glad you caught that – words hold ideas in the balance, don’t they? Sometimes you wonder if what you wrote communicates what you were thinking at the time or not.

Thought provoking verse… I am…therefore I be… nothing more and nothing less… the moment is all I have been given… I am content.

    1. melodylowes

Very well put – open to possibilities and challenges, ready for anything, content with it all…

You sure know how to converse with nature 🙂

Should I be worried that it talks back?? 🙂

      1. gladiuspoeticus

        Doesn’t it already?

      2. melodylowes

🙂 If I listen carefully, it sure does!

      3. gladiuspoeticus

Your writings are the evidence of that 🙂

      4. melodylowes

Why thank you, kind sir! (You won’t hold it against me, then?) 🙂

      5. gladiuspoeticus

On the contrary, my dear! Be as you are.

I am in awe of your ability to write in so many languages. How many are you fluent in?

      7. gladiuspoeticus

About 6 (Surinamese included). I am a language freak.

      8. melodylowes

I’m GREEN right now(with envy, not from being in my garden.) 🙂 I have an affinity for languages but never had exposure. I am a ‘wanna be’ language freak! I admire those who can speak many languages so much – it must be a lot of fun to think in so many different ways…absolutely fascinating!

      9. gladiuspoeticus

It sure is. I made it a rule not to visit a country, unless I master some of the language. I only needed 2 months to learn enough portuguese from a booklet to find my way in Lisbon during a 2 weeks stay. Not bad huh? But don’t be fooled; it takes a lot of hard work and dedication 🙂

It takes a brain receptive to new sounds and a memory of steel – I haven’t travelled much but have learned a bit of Croatian for my first trip there last fall – I don’t know if it’s still up there or not by now!! Good for you – what a great challenge to give yourself. It makes the travel that much more of an adventure 1

      11. gladiuspoeticus

It does. And addressing the people in their native language always gets rewarded with greater hospitality. 😉

I’m sure everyone appreciates the effort, for sure!
