🙂 Some days it feels as though this winter will last forever, you mean? I hear ya, sister….

This is a lovely shot, Melody. I long for more sunshine here on the coast. Your words serve to remind me that others may be simply hiding pain under a crusty exterior and be in need of extra grace.

    Blessings ~ Wendy

Crusty, indeed – difficult to swallow our pride and give a smile where a grouchy word is given, isn’t it? 😦 Thanks Wendy!

A stiff upper lip can cause a lot of pain in itself, never mind what it is covering 😦

How right you are. We aren’t designed to do this life thing all alone, are we?

      1. Gallivanta

And how lips were made to be flexible for smiling and laughing, talking and trembling.

      2. melodylowes

Hmmm. I’m pretty sure there is a poem in that, Gallivanta. What a lovely thought. Such softness at the very outlet of our every word.

Illustrated with a lovely photo of soft, billowing breath of steam from our lips/mouth against the backdrop of the snow?????????????? What an ugly sentence! Please create a beautiful poem instead 😉

        Workin’ on it!

      5. melodylowes

Well – you inspired me, I must say. I now have officially written about ‘lips’. 🙂

I’m in the midst of a country where the stiff upper lid is preferred. We may appear as cold, rude or arrogant sometimes but deep within we do have a heart of gold. Just like an egg, hard shell but soft inside. Enjoyed the post Melody.

Thanks RPD! It’s a good reminder to look past that stiff outer shell. Sometimes I get annoyed by the crust – and forget the nutrition of the egg! Nice analogy…

What are your thoughts?
