The Song of the Loon

Wild garbled call haunts the evening breeze, Majestic disclosure echoes from trees And floods lakeshore sunset with accented sound – Deflected by Sun, notes fall to the ground.

Wild garbled call haunts the evening breeze,

Majestic disclosure echoes from trees

And floods lakeshore sunset with accented sound –

Deflected by Sun, notes fall to the ground.

Thank you, Madilyn! There is absolutely nothing like a sunset over calm waters – it should be a prescribed medication! 🙂

Lovely Loon tune! The photo & the words transported me back to Lac Le Jeune near my hometown. ~ Wendy

Wow – I am so very honored. Thank you so much, Mack! I have recently begun to decline accepting awards – this was a difficult decision for me, as I don’t like to disappoint anyone, and truly am honored when I am nominated! I find that it takes a lot of time and energy that I don’t have, now that I am back at my job. But I do appreciate your nominations, and wish you the very best in your writing! It is nice to learn more about you on this post!

a very long time ago, i went to high school in the Maine Wilderness on the edge of a lake surrounded by mountains. the call of the loon was always magnified by echoes bouncing back and forth – sounds i’ll never forget.
