That’s a beautiful butterfly – what is it? The only ones I really know are cabbage whites 😀
Ew, those cabbage whites… blech. I really don’t know this one for sure – I know my birds better than my butterflies. It is unusual to see such a pretty one so late in the season – this was a gift!

As soon as I saw your butterfly, I remembered that I had taken this shot! It was a gift. I have tried so often this summer to catch a butterfly – and this one I caught out of the corner of my eye, and as it was out of my view, held my camera up in its general direction and snapped! Love that!

Hey, I just realized you’ve got a blue morning glory with that butterfly! (more awake, today) Yesterday I found some morning glory photos that were great–especially a blue one. I also learned that the white ones are known as “Angel Trumpets” –way cool, no?
Should I be a smarty-pants and tell you angel trumpets are a different plant? 😉 A delicious name, nonetheless. I love morning glories – their name is so fitting.

The flower form is very similar, indeed – the plant is datura (poisonous!) and its common name is angel’s trumpet. I haven’t grown those for quite a few years – maybe it’s time to put some in again! They really are very lovely. Just looking at a picture is very misleading, so don’t feel bad!
Well, if it were anyone but you, I’d be hiding my face in shame, maybe even depressed–but I guess I figured I was safe enough with you to risk looking like an idiot! So I’m laughing down here–and of course blaming the picture, my “old” eyes, lack of sleep, and so on and so on! Since the plant is poisonous, maybe you shouldn’t plant any–are morning glories safe?? I’m guessing yes. In case I forget–have a blessed week at school!!

You’re right–that was long before I knew Jesus; in fact, my fear of God was based on my fear of my parents–not a good thing (not “reverential, Godly fear”). So now that I know Whose I am, it doesn’t make much difference if I get a flower name wrong–there won’t be a test when we get to heaven and see His way cool garden!
So much of what we live out of comes from those paces where we learned lies about who we are… What a great thought, that heaven has no tests!!! 🙂

Is this a good time to tell you that I once thought there were some morning glory seedlings that showed up in a flower bed, so I carefully transplanted them – only to find out they were weeds? 😦
I’m snickering (lovingly!) because, of the 2 of us, you are definitely the plant/flower expert. I’ll consider it a miracle if my 1 spider plant does not expire!
Oddly enough, I regularly kill houseplants, while my garden thrives. Who knew? *she snickers back*
Now that is curious–you think it has to do with location of the plants inside, light? Or that you’re way busier during the non-garden season? (You don’t really have to answer, I’m just pondering and chatting–thinking I should warm up the chili I slaved over earlier and eat some!)
