You Whisper Secrets

You whisper secrets soft and low, Tales you’ve gleaned from winds that blow On wings of silver-quivered air; They rustle in your autumn hair, Gossiping of glories past (From days when love was built to last). I close my eyes, and listen in On conversations on the wind; I feel the ancient words that sigh…

You whisper secrets soft and low,

Tales you’ve gleaned from winds that blow

On wings of silver-quivered air;

They rustle in your autumn hair,

Gossiping of glories past

(From days when love was built to last).

I close my eyes, and listen in

On conversations on the wind;

I feel the ancient words that sigh

In  autumn tree-top lullaby.

      You set too high a standard for me – how can I top Wow-wonderful?? ….. *sigh* 🙂

        Ha ha–as a teacher, do you ever struggle with how to grade the students who are consistently excelling beyond the rest? I would guess you want to remark on, and encourage them to continue to do well–there’s probably a subtle line, somewhere, between offering high praise, and imposing too high a standard. In the blogging world, it’s tough to come up with sincere “high praise” which doesn’t become redundant–and I confess that there are a precious few writers here, who I can honestly say I “love everything” they write. Fortunately, or “Un-“, that is true for me, of you! I’m challenged everyday to say something “different”, when most of your poems are so stellar. So, it is not my intention that you would feel “performance pressure”–and I suspect you could make your grocery list sound very clever and poetic! Perhaps I’ve developed a slight bias, but not much…

        Love ‘Caddo-Bias’ – can you bottle it?? It certainly has value….

        Sounds like the latest “designer” fragrance: “Rich notes of….and sweet pea…to create a hauntingly evocative perfume for the ‘singular’ woman”. What do you think? No drugstore “spritz”, this–only high-end mall stores (read: “snooty” shopgirls). Oh, I’m on a whirl, here….

        Sounds like a poem in the making to me!!! 🙂

        My brain is way dull tonight–but I’ll try to file it away; in the meantime, you’re welcome to do the poem, my Partner in Poems!! Speaking of–the collaboration we did will post on Saturday at CV; I got some extra mileage out of it–used it to inspire my 6 Word Sat! Yay, Team!
