Feathered quill with which to write,
dainty brush to paint the scene,
fairy broom, a floor’s delight,
fancy headdress for a queen.
Lingering seed tufts, hangers-on
upon the stalk of summer’s birth;
first to greet pale winter’s dawn,
first to welcome snow to earth.
You are so prolific with your writing. I really admire that.
Thanks! I guess there is a lot to say after a lifetime of not recognizing that I am a writer!! ๐
Beautiful. ๐
Thank you! ๐
This is both pretty and powerful! I just got that lovely first snowfall feeling reading this, and we are a long way off from that… Now I can’t wait for some snow to take pictures of.
Blessings ~ Wendy
The flakes are huge this morning and twirling down so gently – a truly breathtaking sight, although I would rather the snow wait for a few more weeks….
My daughter is green over your white visitors! It sounds like a winter wonderland at your place. We have webs growing between our toes…
Perfect photo and words!
Thank you!
I like this one a lot–good verse!!
Thanks Caddo!
This one was light and delicate and beautiful. Thank you, Melody and God bless!
Thanks Debbie!
Love everything about this. Beautifully done.
Thanks! It sure is fun to let the imagination loose! ๐
What were the preferred bird feather, when writing with a quill?
Good question… Goose?? ๐
Goose feathers are most commonly used; scarcer, more expensive swan feathers are used for larger lettering.
