It just takes one to stand their ground,
determined to do right,
and ripples spread throughout the pond
in waves of white-capped light.
As breakers swell, and furrows fold,
the undulating tide
will mark the places where the brave
laid comfort-zones aside.

What are you doing to make your world a better place? It just takes one…
Love the shot, and the words make it even better.
Thank you! It’s very satisfying to capture something worthwhile, isn’t it?
Melody – on the occasion of being on the heels of Remembrance Day – what a powerful tribute. Thank-you!
Thanks! There is so much to be inspired by in the heroic acts of the past – may we be brave in the present, to create a better future!
Ha! I see you changed your header! I hate cold and snow and ice, but in a picture it looks great! I like this too!
Thanks, Julie. It has been white pretty consistently for the past month, so I thought it fitting to make my blog ‘match’… Winter is my least favourite, so I am on a mission to find all the glory I can in it while I wait for spring! 🙂
Perfect poem for a perfect picture! And truly inspiring…
Blessings ~ Wendy
Thank you Wendy!
Love prairie winters, but can do without … the cold!
I’m with you on that! Our sparkling snow is lovely for playtime – not so lovely for the extremities or driving with… 😦
Well, I show up for my blog job everyday, and pray I can touch, lift a few hearts. God bless you Big, Melody–love, Caddo
Indeed – it just takes one, and when you’re Caddo, one leaves some mighty big tracks to fill! (That’s a compliment, y’all…)
Oh thank you for the chuckle–you are so sweet and generous to me!! (y’all)
Cool, wintry look on the blog. A fitting poetic tribute to those whose lives of courageous self-giving are poetry.
Thanks Rob! Thought I’d make the my interior blog life match the exterior winterscape… What a great thought, that one’s life can be poetry. Can I borrow that? I think there is a poem in it somewhere… 🙂
Might use it myself as well. Go for it! My wife tells me I do my best writing in off-the-cuff Facebook remarks. Unsure what to make of that. Hmmm.
I’ve felt that a few times in making a comment – should I be taking notes or something?? ha ha I guess if it’s in you, it’s in you – off the cuff or on the cuff. (Whatever that means..)
Indubitably, my good woman. Indubitably.
Thank you for inspiring us in such a poetic way, to do what we can! God bless you!
Thanks Debbie!
