When loose ends don’t meet
and dreams fray,
life unravels.
Slip knots slip
and coils uncoil
because living is not linear;
it can’t be neatly hung
from pillar to post.
Even tying the knot
is no guarantee,
for when hearts shrink,
lassoes lengthen.
But here’s the twist –
once discover the end of your rope,
and you will find
a no-strings-attached
place to hang your heart;
these are the
Ties that Bind.
Excellent!
Thank you! 🙂
Nice thought with the photo. Love how the sun peeks through the knot. At a glance it looks like a flame coming through it.
It captured me, that lighting – I’m glad you see it, too! Thanks Rosy!
Excellent message here, Melody–and so poetically put!
🙂 Why, thank you, Ma’am!
What a wise woman, poet, photographer you are! loved it! God bless you as you hang your heart on Him!
Thank so much, my friend. Have a wonderful evening!
Bind like gentle swaddling cloth. Ties that bind is one of my favourite ideas to comtemplate. Thank you for giving me another perspective.
Thanks Gallivanta!
Gorgeous photo and very poem!
Thank you Dina! 🙂
Melody, how you peer and look closely at the world–and feelings–in such a wonderful way! This was an awesome theme. I took something away from this that I will place in my little hand-carved, sweet cedar lined box where I keep the most precious thoughts to take out and ponder again and again… 🙂 Eric
🙂 Ponder away!
