believe it or not I have a Black-Belt … and as a matter of fact have those gloves in the closet… However, I prefer to punch without them … more effective π

I woke up at 5:00 and one of the first things I did was look out the window. We have a winter storm warning with up to 10 cm (3 inches) of snow expected today. Winter feels like it began in October of 2011 and not October 2012. It has been long. So, “Will Spring please stand up?”
Bring it on! We had a wicked storm in this area today – more snow, road closures, etc – one of the worst we’ve had in years. Happy first day of spring! π¦
The 100-car pile-up in Edmonton is sure horrible. I was scheduled to come into Saskatoon this afternoon and didn’t attempt it – but I was itching to go see those reputed 6-7-foot drifts on the #5 highway, just to have photographic fodder! π
Too true! And opportunities like that sure don’t come along every day. I’m home safe and sound listening to the wind – perhaps tomorrow will yield some interesting sights, once that wind has had its say?? π
Melody, there’s no need to rush, roots and holiness requires their time and, to me, God is very well in charge of their timing. We humans need to learn needful lessons in absorbing Winters voices within us.
Absolutely – Winter must take its place; we need rest and renewal as well as growth! And this year I don’t feel the typical angst of this time of year, since my son will be graduating and I don’t want to miss any of my time with him! π
Pretty please….
π Road closures, wicked wind, accidents – quite the way to usher in the first official day of spring, isn’t it? π¦
Great shape poem and I like the idea of assertiveness training for spring. Spring is a bit abused by the big bully of winter.
It sure is! π
For crying out loud, just give it a good punch and lets get going …
Do you supply boxing gloves??

How cool is that? Until you ask the question, you’ll never know the answer… π

C’mon spring – We’re all waiting for you with open arms!

There were snow flurries here this morning, plus the temperature dropped below twenty last night. There is a ray of sunshine that just came out. Hope!
Isn’t that disheartening?? The great thing is, spring always wins in the end. Winter just doesn’t like to bow out gracefully, that’s all!
Wonderful! I’m sure she’ll listen now!
Road closures, 4-5-foot drifts on the highways, accidents,…it was a truly horrible first day of spring. Yikes!
I love it! Thank you for sharing this hopeful poem with so many who are thinking similar things. You express their thoughts in a beautiful way.
Russ
Thanks Russ! π Perhaps we’re in the same boat after all?
Well done. We’re all talking about the weather now.
Oooh, boy – some of the stories and pictures coming from the ‘front’ are pretty incredible. Stay warm and safe!
Maybe you’ll have to post them.

You should have gone – that sounds amazing. It’s a lot of fun checking out stuff when you don’t have to be there.

Oh you got me smiling! I think it’s been colder these last few days than it was most of winter. haha! Thanks, Melody!
A wicked storm is brewing today – highways closures, accidents, event cancellations left and right. Happy Spring all around! π¦
Yep, I thought yesterday–first day of spring–that the snow flurries were the Last Straw; but I’ll no doubt come up with a short poem about it…
Always fodder for the pen…
It’s true.
I’m sitting here…cold.
Spring is trying to stand up
but…..
Winter is sitting on Spring!
The bully! His days are numbered, though – he’s in for a rude awakening! π Keep warm…

that I understand !
I hate when the Lord’s creation teases us so!
The sun shines with some determination today – it won’t be long now! π
Pretty enough.
Thank you!
I think it has come at last. π
Yay! Ours has had a wee setback – we had ourselves a bit of a mini blizzard here today… π¦
I loved the image, the poem and the creative disposition!
Thank you, Virginia! π
Lovely bloog you have
