Light, robed in fabric

satin-spun with sun-beams,

sways – swirls, extends

muscles and feet

.

in secretive dance

upon stage soft as

silk. Her music is

the subtle sigh of lonesome

.

pines, the cadence of

songbirds greeting the

dawn, the rustle of

feathers in flight;

she delights in this

moment, this filament of time

hung on summer breeze,

and she dances. Her

.

body melts into

nature’s melody – is

electrified by its pulse,

consumed by its rhythm,

.

choreographed by its

raw emotion. She lets go,

jubilation in every line,

and she dances.

This is Wonderful, Mel! I love the 2nd line best–so exquisite! And those lilies are just incredible!

    1. melodylowes

Ah, the whole garden has been magically transformed into a bountiful paradise. Wish you could see it!

      1. bennetta faire

Yep, I picture myself walking over with something just-cooked/baked for you (but not those frog legs you requested–I have to draw the line somewhere, “gag”). How big IS this magical earthly paradise you’ve nurtured?

      2. melodylowes

Mmm – not sure. Don’t know in acres or square feet – am rather a measurement dweeb. Big enough to enjoy – how’s that??

      3. bennetta faire

I’m a meas dweeb too–just wondered if it would be, say, a whole big back yard? Or just a corner? Can you walk it in a day? Too big to catch the phone before it stops ringing? That’s how I measure…

      4. melodylowes

Much bigger than a regular ole backyard – dimensions, I dunno. Could ask hubby when he gets home…

      5. bennetta faire

No need, I see it now! WOW.

  9. Gallivanta

Are the lilies fragrant ones? What a wonderful ballroom you have in your garden.

    1. melodylowes

Some of them have wonderful fragrances. I am enjoying it very much!!

      1. Gallivanta

Random question? Have you ever dined on or taste tested lilies? Certain ones are edible, I think, but I am always too unsure about which ones to try.

      2. melodylowes

I have seen pictures and heard of it, but have never tried – I would hate to ruin a flower by picking it. I wonder what they taste like??? Actually – I tried some dried lilies from a cool Asian market – but they weren’t good at all.

      3. Gallivanta

Mmmmm; perhaps best to leave lilies to their beautiful dancing then.

Ah so lovely, Melody! I’m emailing to a dear friend who has been detoxing from prescription drugs. I thought of her when I read this because her email starts with cinderella. She’s a jewel of a friend and I know your poetry will be a blessing to her . Praying she will rise up and dance.
    Hugs!

    1. melodylowes

You are a good friend, Glenda. Be blessed!
