O Morning Star,

You who fell from heaven

to take on flu and scars and walk

within weather and time and disappointment,

illuminate this frigid Dark that consumes my blighted soul,

that I might be released into my Destiny, to relay Your reflection as

moon to your sun, declaring brilliance in my lineage, decorating Your tree.

I’m blessed by your poems. Amazed at what flows out from your pen.

How sweet. Thank you so much – I truly appreciate those words. I am blessed by the presence of some wonderful cyber-folks…. 🙂

  4. Caddo

I’m rather emotional tonight, so this struck me deep–excellent, as always. Off topic, I have a question: do you have to do some special trick to get the Reader to say that “readers” must come to your blog to read the whole post?? Color me confused, or something… God bless you BIG–love, sis Caddo

    1. melodylowes

Ooh, good question. I’m not sure about that. I wonder if it is in the settings menu somewhere??? LOVE color me confused. I think you’d better write a poem with that as a title or a line or something.

      1. Caddo

Okay, I’ll check the settings manana, after I get some sleep–and I’m chuckling over your suggestion to write a color-me-confused poem! May as well get some mileage out of it, eh?!! Love you lots!

      2. melodylowes

        Hugs right back!

      3. Caddo

A million thank you’s, Mel–I went right to the settings and fixed mine, then checked the Reader to see if it worked–voila!

      4. melodylowes

        Voila!

  5. roughseasinthemed

I love your visual interpretation of that photo as a star, and the resulting inspiring words.

    1. melodylowes

Thanks. I like being able to let my imagination go. And not get arrested for it. 🙂

I have missed your blog, had to take on full time work, shift work sucks. Any way beautiful poem and picture take care my friend

    1. melodylowes

Thank you! Ah, it would be so lovely to be free from that whole working for a living thing. But – we have to eat once in a while! I have had to cut back on my blog reading, too, and it is always nice to catch up with ‘old’ friends, isn’t it?

  7. Rum Punch Drunk

Another brilliant piece of work from you again Melody. Your posts always get me thinking throughout the day. Enjoy the rest of your week.

    1. melodylowes

Thanks RPD! I’m enjoying the Christmas season, for once – usually I’m all stressed out! I’m trying to go about this one differently, take more in that is beautiful, and leave more out that is foolish. So – I DO plan on enjoying the rest of my week, thank you! 😀

    1. melodylowes

Thanks Pam! Ah, I have much to learn. *sigh* May we ALL learn to truly shone. Imagine a world like that!!

    2. melodylowes

Oops – that’s supposed to say ‘shine’. Bad teacher… 🙂

      1. Pam

Love it – we’re all human, here!

      2. melodylowes

I was explaining to one of my young students how I had forgotten something or another, and he looked at me with this beautiful innocent wisdom and said, “That’s okay, Mrs. Lowes. We all forget things once in a while.” I think I will love him forever for that! 🙂

      3. Pam

the wisdom and grace of children – love it!

  11. Lyle Krahn

Taking on flu was an angle I didn’t expect.

    1. melodylowes

Good! I love to read something unexpected, myself – it seems to have more impact that way. Imagine voluntarily having the flu…. 🙂

      1. Lyle Krahn

        Yikes

  12. RoSy

    Beautiful!

    1. melodylowes

Thanks Miz Rosy! Keeping warm these days, I hope??

      1. RoSy

I’m trying. But – it’s not so easy. I need to move to somewhere warm. This cold weather is getting old – LOL

      2. melodylowes

I so agree! I can keep my spirits up for little spurts, and then whammo – down in the deep freeze my enthusiasm goes. Ah, well. At least we don’t have anacondas dropping out of trees onto our shoulders!! 😉
