Rise Above!

Rise above! This world will try to break you, Tear you down, forsake you, Smash your dreams, deface you, But you can’t let it win! Rise above! The past will scratch and claw you, Terrify and flaw you, Masticate and gnaw you, And wear your patience thin. Rise above! There is One who knows you,…

Rise above!

This world will try to break you,

Tear you down, forsake you,

Smash your dreams, deface you,

But you can’t let it win!

Rise above!

The past will scratch and claw you,

Terrify and flaw you,

Masticate and gnaw you,

And wear your patience thin.

Rise above!

There is One who knows you,

Beautifies and grows you,

Cherishes and chose you,

So let the rise begin!

“Don’t be afraid, for I am with you.  Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you and help you.  I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.”  Isaiah 41:10

    Beautiful! Isaiah is my favorite!

I thought you may get a smile out of this. The other day my daughter said, “Hey, mom the name Isaac means to laugh. So the next time I am laughing I can say “Hey, I am Isaacing” instead of laughing.”

Hee hee We can all “Isaac” very loud with joy. Your words made me feel joyful. I get moved to joy reading such powerful reminders. As well as great encouragement reading “Rise Above!” 🙂

I love how kids seem to ‘get’ things on a deeper level sometimes – they have a knack for making connections in new ways. Thank you – Isaiah is my favourite, too! 🙂

I have that flower! I also have a Nikon Cool Pix camera but I can never get a good shot of this flower. It always seems to glow and is blurry.
PS I love the shape of this poem.

Thank you, Symanntha! I have taken a LOT of shot of this one in order to get one that isn’t blurry – they are so small and close together that the camera maybe doesn’t know which one to focus on?? 🙂

Maybe! And I might need to try the shot on a cloudy day, bright sunny days are actually bad for taking photos outside. I will have to try again, my are blooming for the second time.

        Good luck! 🙂

God will make us rise above, so very true! All we need to do is believe and have faith.

    1. melodylowes

Yes – and easier said than done some days. But faith grows as we do, so the only way is up! 🙂

I love your poem… Most of the time when the world rises up and floods over my head I just lay back and float…I’m always surprised at where I end up! There is definately something that holds this old world together and I’ve learned it’s my best friend.

~~Re: blurry photos… I finally got a good shot of my blueberries today… I’ve found that if I click it a bit a couple of times before I push the button down all the way it has something in there that checks the focus. It worked. It was a problem that plagued me for a very long time. Happy picture-taking!

What a great idea, to float with the tide, instead of fighting it! 🙂 Mmmmm, blueberries – mine have been blooming a lot so the potential for fruit should be high this year. Can’t wait!
