If You Chose

If you chose, you could dwell in midnight shade, Covered in shadows, a shroud of despair; The darkness would hide, your infirmities fade, If you chose the safety of blackened lair. But here in the sunshine, your beauty blooms, Radiance spills from your vulnerable stance; Reflecting Creator, created resumes, Tripping the light fantastic in dance.

If you chose, you could dwell in midnight shade,

Covered in shadows, a shroud of despair;

The darkness would hide, your infirmities fade,

If you chose the safety of blackened lair.

But here in the sunshine, your beauty blooms,

Radiance spills from your vulnerable stance;

Reflecting Creator, created resumes,

Tripping the light fantastic in dance.

    It’s true, we get to chose if wed like to live in the dark or the light, to be happy or miserable. I so admire the way you send deep meaning messages through your poems!

      It is because I struggle to know the truth in my own soul that I explore all of these issues with poetry – and I find the courage to keep searching for all that is real and beautiful! Thank you as always for your amazing support… 🙂

        I see what you mean. I have been through some confusing times myself, about 4 years ago when my anxiety disorder came to the highest point. Now I’m either too sedated 🙂 or I’ve just made peace with myself.

        I learn all the time how to cope better, how to restrain negative thinking, how to choose well and give myself more of a chance to succeed. It is a real skill that needs a lot of practice! I think it is wise to make peace with yourself – much less like an inner war going on…
