Get a grip,
hold on fast;
Any slip
may be your last.
Fingers ache
with holding on;
Frosty breath –
you’re going, gone…

We delude ourselves when we feel that we have a grip on life. Control is but a frost away from losing it all – how much better it is to let go and be gripped by grace!
I love that – “gripped by grace.” Amazing!!
Thank you Lizzie! I have seen and heard the term before, so definitely can’t take the credit – but the words are so lovely, and fit so well with what I wanted to say, that I had to ‘borrow’ it!
“Gripped by Grace”–I’ll TAKE it!! God bless you–love, Caddo
Isn’t that something? I just love that. It helps to let go if you get caught by something like THAT! 🙂
It is “something”, Melody–and your note here to expand on the concept is very helpful for me, very visual! AND, I have a poem coming up soon–an acrostic called “Captured”, which references that same “being caught” by His grace. Oooh, this is good stuff!
I can feel the poetic juices flowing! What a wonderful idea. Love the term ‘captured’ – so gut-wrenching and emotional!
Then I think you’re gonna like it!!
Your poems are so special, teaching lovingly! I could relate to those fingers aching! God bless you , Melody, as you fall into His arms today!
No better place, is there? Thank you Debbie for that wonderful thought…
