You definitely deserve an ‘A’ for effort.

Your work ethic dictates policy,

keeps you after hours,

banks over-time pay.

While others turned up their noses at the challenge,

you rose.

Some undefinable quality

in your genetics

bred tenacity,

endurance,

courage.

While others toppled,

splintered,

faltered,

failed –

you rose.

October roses are a real treat – this is the last of them, I’m afraid – but while the frost got most, and broke their spirits, these rose!

WOW, Melody, wow! I vow to be a rose today and Rise (“Arise, and Shine–Give God the Glory, Glory…” do you know that song?) However, it may take an hour or so before I’m “shining”–ha ha

    1. melodylowes

Hey – haven’t heard that song for YEARS… guess I still haven’t heard it, technically. Although, it is stuck in my head now. 🙂 You already are a rose of this calibre, dincha know? 🙂

Thank you, my dear. Earlier this week, I was in the laundry–and the song, “His Name Is Wonderful” started playing in my head; then the other day, I was walking into Safeway, and it was another church song (I’ve forgotten it now–they come and go like a radio!). Today, I’m thinking God is joking with me, about the “Arise and Shine” one–it’s 4:20, and I’m still not shining! I wonder if the flu and Shingles shots I got yesterday have made me kinda puke-ish? Oh well–

      2. melodylowes

They sure could be – I always seem to react at first, too, and have a few ‘off’ days after those shots…

Oh good, then I have permission to take it easy, eh? Tonight’s dinner will be oatmeal and yogurt–lying on the couch watching my boys (bull riders). I did get the dishes done, so I haven’t loafed ALL day.

      4. melodylowes

Just don’t get too cowgirl and chuck your oatmeal when your boys get rowdy! 🙂

      5. Caddo Veil

The bulls were definitely rowdy tonight–flying leaps, and then running over the boys in the dirt. I’m getting ready to write my PBR Finals–World Championship (Oct 24-28) post–it contains a testimony, of sorts…

I never can be prepared for the number of literary vehicles at your disposal… 🙂

I last through the winter…At least that’s what my parents thought when they named me 😉

*giggle* I guess you are one of the elite, then! 🙂

The pink is so precious and how they rose .. .another great Melody lesson for us! Thank you!
