Giving Thanks

Thank You for the fallen leaves, beauty as the season grieves, oxygen to fill lungs full, gravity’s redeeming pull. Thank You for the fallen leaves,

beauty as the season grieves,

oxygen to fill lungs full,

gravity’s redeeming pull.

Thank You for fresh fruits and herbs,

baskets piled with living verbs,

juice that drips from cheek to chin,

taste-buds to delight within.

Thank You for a brain to think,

words to fill the page with ink,

heart to ponder deepest grace,

Son who died to take our place.

Lord, for all these blessings sweet,

we lay our thanks at nail-pierced feet

to offer heart and hearth to You,

source of all that’s good and true.

Thank you Verna! I find that my stubborn heart needs a little push here and there. Reminders don’t hurt, do they? 😉
