We’re snowed in, love, the world is white,
mistakes are drifted in tonight;
our slate is cleaned, the past is dressed
in whitewashed grace – so be at rest.
Blunders wear refinement’s shawl,
faux pas flaunt finesse, as all
our errors lie beneath the snow;
let’s start again, and let yore go…
What a peaceful poem about snow! Nice photo, too, Melody! π
Thanks, Madilyn! π
Beautiful, Melody! I love grace and the fresh start it gives us.
Blessings ~ Wendy
Cold as it is, that’s what I see in the snow – it covers all the yucky stuff. (Temporarily, anyway…)
Snow as whitewashed grace – that’s good imagery and turn of phrase.
Thanks Lyle! (It works as long as the traffic doesn’t chew it up and make it yucky. And no salt trucks allowed. And if it melts and turns to slush – ah, well. An image only goes so far, right?) π
And that’s why it snows again (at least this year)
You described that so well. I know what you mean (At least – I think I do). π
Whatever you think it is, it is. That’s the beauty of poetry, right? We read into it whatever is going on in our lives at the time – one size fits all!
Way-Wow-Wonderful, Melody!! I love this so much. The line beginning with “blunders” may be my fave, but it’s awfully hard to choose today.
Thanks! I love the way God gives us lots of ways to start fresh – snowfalls, New Year’s, weeks, days, months – all speak to our ability to choose afresh.
Lovely :).
Thank you! π
What a great poem! Loved it!
I love the serenade with serenity !
What a lovely way to put it… π
This was perfect, Melody! I loved the idea of snow grace! God bless you and cover you today!
Thank you, Debbie! And you as well!

Thank you Maria!
‘Tis true.
Beautiful picture to illustrate your lovely poem. I’m grateful to have seen both. Happy New Year, Melody.
I forgot to mention I noticed your blog has a new look. Love blue. Love your new look. ~Lori
Thanks Lori! I’ve decided to change it with the seasons – change is good once in a while! π
That’s what I’ve been doing, too, Melody. I enjoy the changes.
It’s a bit like rearranging the furniture – new view, fresh inspiration! π
Thank you, Lori!! Happy New Year to you, too! π
