I have been what I am not,
I have spurned what I’ve been taught;
I have buried what’s alive,
I have fed what should have died.
I have worn denial’s ring,
I have crowned deception king;
I have shouted silent lies,
I have swallowed truthful cries.
I have welcomed midnight thieves,
I have broken boundaries;
Could you love one such as I?
“Yes, My love, My precious child –
I have waited long for you,
I became a child to prove
My love is big enough to free
you from yourself, so come to Me.”
This poem simply encapsulates the fragility of the human soul, I love it!
Thank you so much! We fight so hard against it, yet our fragility remains. And I think that there is a beauty in it, if we embrace it as it is…
You’re right Melody!
Beautiful, beautiful! Both your picture and poem have captured the Light of Christmas in a deeply touching manner.
Blessings to you, Melody ~ Wendy
Thank you Wendy! 🙂
This just proves once again, that these sites need a “love” button because “like” just isn’t enough.
That’s so sweet, Tina! Thank you very much! 🙂
Oh gosh, Melody–if there were a “Poem of the Year” deal, this would surely be it. I simply must keep a copy–it’s too, it’s so–obviously I’m at a loss for words (rare event, should make the 6 o’clock news).
I’ll tune in just in case you’re on! *giggle* Thanks, my friend…
You have been on fire that last couple of days, but this one tops them all, made me tear up. To me this poem was all about truth and acknowledging the truth will set us free.
Thanks, Lorene! It made me tear up writing it, so I knew it was a ‘God thing’.
Oh Melody .. .this gave me goosebumps and tears. Thank you for writing as He leads you! Maybe another song one? I’m with Caddo . ..poem of the year!
Wow. Thanks, girls! 🙂
Such beauty
Thank you Millie! 🙂
