Being Covered

Being covered in raiment of another’s choosing labelled you Lost. Lost to sight, lost to self, you laboured to be whatever you were called, and laboured in vain. Until being covered in raiment of Another’s choosing labelled you  Loved! Loved by sight, loved for self, your labour to ‘be’ ceased; you simply became. Being covered…

Being covered

in raiment of another’s choosing

labelled you Lost.

Lost to sight,

lost to self,

you laboured to be

whatever you were called,

and laboured in vain.

Until

being covered

in raiment of Another’s choosing

labelled you  Loved!

Loved by sight,

loved for self,

your labour to ‘be’

ceased;

you simply became.

Being covered

enhanced

and

complimented

and

intensified

inherent characteristics

and the you

inside

exploded with colour

and fragrance

and beauty…

A theology lesson in poetry. Nice.

This really speaks well to me, Melody! So many years of trying to figure out, and be, what someone else said they wanted (just to have them change their minds, if I got close to accomplishing the impossible task)…and I also have a glaring memory that is the literal interpretation of your opening line, but I won’t go there. “The you inside exploded with color”–that’s what I’m living now, Hallelujah!!! God bless you–love, Caddo

Ah, the glory of the transformation! 🙂 I love you for it!

It’s funny, how I’ve forgotten how much blood sweat and tears went into it–must be like labor pains, eh? (never had them, myself–not a mom) To be more honest, I suspect the abundance of pain meds killed a LOT of memory cells–but even that is covered by the Blood, so I’m grateful (no condemnation).

Life in general kills brain cells, I think! 😦 And the whole no condemnation thing covers a LOT of territory! Yay!

Oh good, I’m feeling better and better!!
