Stand.
When snowy weight collapses hope,
When freezing breaks the means to cope,
When winter winds fray final rope,
Stand.
When friend becomes the enemy,
When weakness bends a shaking knee,
When soul’s great thirst is to fight free,
Stand.

‘Stand firm, then…’
Erect and pure and living true, those are the thoughts I think of you… Great poem, Melody! And great pic too. ๐
You can’t help but think in poetry, can you? Thanks Eric! ๐
This is a good exhortation, put in lovely verse, Melody. (Can I stand “in my spirit” while lying on the couch?)
Sure enough, Ma’am! I do it all the time!! ๐
Wow, I needed this one today. I thank the Lord for speaking through you. Thanks, Melody.
Cool! Glad to be a part of your journey! ๐
What a great poem to help us stand today! Thank you, Melody!
Thanks so much, Debbie….
What a beautiful blue sky against those snow covered boughs of green.
‘When friend becomes the enemy’ – now that is a harsh one. Have you read Ps. 55? It always amazes me how there is nothing new under the sun where our hardships are concerned. Yet to each of us, these hardships still seem so deep and personal.
I LOVE that Psalm. There is so much pathos and tragedy included in the Bible – and then comes the triumph and victory, too! I love that how we feel is not new or shocking to a powerful and compassionate God…
