Land of mysterious processes
where arches bow low to Geology;
lateral moraines link time to space,
chasms yawn in boredom,
tectonic plates shift to the tune
of an endless prairie sky.

Wonderful. I am very interested in geology and Continental Shift Theory.
Right now, we have a sunny + cold morning with shining snow. 🙂 Uta
Thanks, Uta! I love geology myself – a fascinating subject. Enjoy your shining snow – it shouldn’t last too much longer now! 🙂
No, no, please tell those tectonic plates to be still. We’ve had enough of their restlessness. 🙂
I don’t know how much clout I have – but I’ll try! 🙂
Sweet.
Thanks Rob! 🙂
I enjoyed this. Thank you for sharing it, Melody.
Russ
Thanks, Russ! It’s so gratifying to know that what I find so much pleasure in can be equally enjoyed by strangers. I never get tired of that.. 🙂
These science ones are always amazing, even as they make my eyes glaze over, and my head spin.
I actually thought of you as I was writing this one – I may just have thrown in some terms on purpose to help with that glazing effect. True courtesy never dies… 🙂
You are one mean sister, Mel–just see how many likes you get, now! (Actually, I’m touched that you thought of me as you wrote–you knew you’d get the desired reaction.)
🙂 I may have to expand upon this geology theme (no apologies offered) just because of the glory of that gloriously crafted snow… Get your dictionary ready! *snort*
Maybe I’ll just take a vaca…
You can’t go anywhere I would want to go, or I’ll follow you there… 🙂
Har har har–you probably would, too–with your little geologic hammer in hand.
That’s a great photo and I like the comparison to geology. Works well.
It was so stunning out there. So many processes were in evidence, it was fascinating. I need to get back out there before the snow gets past its expiration date…
You obviously got a lot more interesting stuff than us. We drove around yesterday but didn’t find anything spectacular other than a lot of deer.
There are actual perfectly complete mini bridges – unbelievable. And perfect triangular prisms. Gullies and waves and lips and cliffs that you can’t even imagine. PLUS, the crystals were sparkling IN COLOUR – blue and pink and gold – I felt like I had found the pot of gold at the end of the – er, snow-bow. ? 🙂
I’m guessing we will see more photos of all this
😀 Weird. It’s like you can read my mind…
This was out of this world! And more of that teacher coming out of you! Thanks, Melody, for sharing your snow with us! 🙂
🙂 More to come! You can’t escape it!
Just to let you know, Melody, that I love your articles – both the inspiring, thought-provoking words and the gorgeous photos. They are a feast for my eyes and my heart. Bless you, dear friend.
Aw, thanks so much for your encouragement, and your presence here. It is a joy to get to know you a little better through your thoughts and your images…
Melody ~do your melodies ever wane from grandiose ? this is a beautiful sonata!
🙂 Why, thank you, Ma’am! I just call it like I see it….
Wonderful.
Thank you! The evidence of geological processes was so interesting out there…
