Flowers fade, and fall at last,
Petals marry ‘now’ to ‘past’,
Only what you’ve stored en masse
Will feed your summer dreams.
.
Daylight nods as autumn wakes,
Giving less than dying takes,
Storing life while living breaks,
Ripping golden seams.
I hope you are storing up for winter! I can scarcely believe that you are getting ready to face those winter snows again. Not quite yet, but …….so carpe rosa like mad.
The roses are still blooming, the veggies are a real treat, and if my camera hadn’t died completely this week I’d have some lovely sunset shots and some ripe produce, too. Ah, well.
let’s keep soaking it in, Melody … LOVE the shot of the bumblebee!
Thank Heidi! He’s buzzing around so steadily, getting what he can, not complaining, but applying himself to what can be found. I like his attitude… 🙂
Oh, the weather has changed now and the summer is fast becoming a memory. I’m getting ready to feed upon what I stored and I know it’s going to be a cold one. Autumn has truly awaken. Beautiful poem Melody and I loved the photo too.
Thanks Rum Punch! Always great to have you drop by. I’ve heard rumours of a ‘bitterly cold winter’ that I’m truly hoping are bunkum. So yes, I am trying hard to store up good things for the winter ahead by soaking in the beauty of each day. Enjoy!
It’s way too hot here, I’m ready for some Autumn “cool and classy”. Love the photo, Mel–you’ve managed to make a bee look cute and cuddly-harmless!
Doesn’t he look cute? True trick photography, huh? 😉
Always enjoy your photos & words that your muse comes up with for them!
Thanks Rosy! I always get a smile when you pop by for a visit…
