Fallen, but not discarded.
Her value lies not in her
ability to contain
her chaos within set seams,
clutch remnants when brute tidal
waves beat against her dormers,
but in her audacity
to bloom down in the trenches.

Blooming in the trenches could be a metaphor for a lot of good things.
I like to think so! Thanks Lyle.
lovely photograph and great metaphors.
Thank you!
Beautiful audacity 🙂
Thanks Gallivanta!
Blooming in the trenches deserves admiration and often showcases the real beauty…
Well-said indeed! 🙂
Melody, I love those pink petals! Lovely post.
Blessings ~ Wendy
Thank you Wendy! How have you been keeping? I sure haven’t had the time to whiz around and visit all my blogging friends lately….
I am keeping busy with a bouquet of creative projects. Yes, it is a juggling act to attempt to visit all the blogs that I enjoy. I’m always behind… but trying to enjoy the journey. 🙂 Have a restful weekend, poet friend.
Thanks Wendy!
so true – are you in the trenches these days?
Meh. I’ve been in much worse. Everything is relative, right? But I understand that feeling of being downtrodden – and the victory of blooming despite it all. Powerful stuff…
yes, indeed
love visiting with you here… always inspiring … peaceful … and lovely … hope you are well, dear friend!
Thank you, Heidi! I am well – fighting a cold, but finally have a camera replacement. Today I am snapping to my heart’s content – poetry to follow soon!! 🙂
yeah!!! Looking forward to it!
Sometimes the best and most beautiful things in life come out of the worse places. I always did loathe the smell of manure but it has some great uses, and many sweet smelling roses has passed that way 🙂
How right you are! What a great word picture to describe one of life’s more ‘aromatic’ truths. We don’t have to like it to acknowledge its power… Thanks RumPunch!
