Where tears met the fog,

Your armour grew –

Negligee wrapping

Pain in more palatable form,

Deflecting eyes from

Bones brittle as death.

If you allow the Light

To strip you naked

(Sinews and seams

Bruised and bare)

Your genuine

Can grow.

Can’t wait to see green! The first hint of spring is here today, with water drip-dripping from the eaves. I love it!!!

Going through one of those painful growing spurts and find myself once again battling a prolonged illness with an adversary that I thought was for the most part slain between pain, and exhaustion not much time to write or read I have missed your passion for the written word that paints emotions with such vividness. I came looking for you tonight and I was not disappointed,

    1. melodylowes

Wow – I am so deeply honoured to be included in your choice of reading time – thank you! I am so sorry that you are battling illness – it is so difficult to be betrayed by our bodies, and to not have the ability or focus or capacity to do what we would like to be able to do!

That genuine looks pretty good in the poem and the photo!

    1. melodylowes

Thanks Lyle. Genuine is looking pretty good to me in general these days, after living with masks for most of my life. I have a feeling that our world would be quite a different place if there were more ‘genuine’ and less covering up….

      1. Lyle Krahn

Yes I found incredible freedom in just being real – more and more I look for that in others.

        Me, too!!
