Bedtime Ritual

summer sunset

Sunlight yawns and sighing, dons a cloudy negligée,

Tired trees tucked by the breeze fold leafy limbs to pray;

Sky surveys through rainbow haze as God turns out the light,

Day descends, and as she bends, she kisses me goodnight.

    Awww, how lovely. I feel all sleepy now, ready to sleep safe and sound.

    I see nothing’s changed–you still have abundant loveliness here, in photos and poetry–aahhhh! I’ve returned, renewed–just in case you feel like peeking (caddo), but no obligation implied.

    I forgot to ask you earlier–are you still teaching, Mel? I’m honestly interested, as I used to enjoy your mini-reports in comments!
