Winter’s brush, with frozen bristles
Decorates the thorns and thistles –
Weaves her words to paint a spell
That beautifies the weeds as well
As ever Solomon was dressed
In kingly robes and royal crest;
Her art, expressed in silver tones,
Becomes the flesh to drape bare bones,
Makes beautiful the cold mundane,
Declares the glory of her reign.
I, who humbly view her show,
Am lured, enraptured by the snow.
It’s surprising how many people miss snow’s spell – I’m with you on the enraptured part! I made a quick trip to Jasper this week and fell into it all over again.
Oooh – Jasper is where to truly fall in love with the whole ‘winter wonderland’ thing. Gorgeous. Hope you got some great shots to add to your collection!!
Oh WOW-Wonderful, Mel!! Enraptured, yes, quite lovely. I rather miss the sundial ones–s’pose they’re snow-covered, eh? Thinking of you with big-hearted fondness, and wishing you a happy and blessed Christmas!
Aw, shucks, gal! I think I’ll try wading out into all that snow and see if I can’t scare up a sundial pic or two, just for you! Have been busy at work and having internet connectivity issues – but the holidays are a-comin’, and I aim to get my camera sizzling on your behalf! 🙂
That would be the sweetest, most hugely memorable gift–but don’t fall and break something in your efforts! I’m overjoyed by your heart of friendship–God bless you BIG!
Aw, shucks, Ma’am. [shuffle, shuffle, stammer] Right back at ya!
