Pollen

lollipop lilyYour words are pollen

Delicate and powerful

Clinging to my soul

*

They remain on skin

Long after leaving your lips

Tattoo of friendship

Unless She Dies

heirloom pollen

Unless she dies, she lives in vain,

unless she loses, there’s no gain;

until she knows she’s emptied out,

her unborn seeds will never sprout.

Pollen Counts

princess purple pollen

Golden grains, a holy harvest

hovering on fruitful lips;

words are pollen, rich with meaning,

pregnant with potential scripts

.

that sow within a listening soul

a seed of hope – embryo

which, when implanted in a heart

take root, sprout,and start to grow.

.

If unspoken, pollen withers,

loses ground, and starts to die;

if too forceful, it will spatter,

staining as it whizzes by.

.

If applied as God intended,

spread by gentle breeze or art –

pollen counts, and reproduces

life and health and growth by heart.

Stained Am I

lilyspots.jpg

Stained am I, and streaked

by this palsy, pollen-spots

falling as table-scraps onto

purity’s napkin. Holy

rain, wash my hands,

my feet, my heart, that

I would bloom beauty

in shades of redemption,

where mercy meets

malfeasance with a

gown white as snow.
