Thank You

Thank You for the sky so blue, Thank You for a day that’s new; Thank You for companions fair, For water clear, for food to share. Thank You for a heart to hold, For clothing when I’m feeling cold. Thank You for Your blessings,too; And Lord, this day, thank You for You!

Thank You for the sky so blue,

Thank You for a day that’s new;

Thank You for companions fair,

For water clear, for food to share.

Thank You for a heart to hold,

For clothing when I’m feeling cold.

Thank You for Your blessings,too;

And Lord, this day, thank You for You!

      🙂 Go for it!

    I absolutely love the simplicity of this, Melody–it sounds like what the child in us prays. God bless you this Lord’s Day. love, Caddo

      And coming childlike is a prerequisite, is it not? 🙂

        Absolutely! (and it’s way more fun than being a serious adult all the time!)

    And thank you for reminding me I should be thankful for all the great things in my life, like health, family, friends or simply for being alive 🙂
    To me this poem is very inspirational and I hope many people feel the same as I do.

      Thank you, Petro! It is such an important choice to make daily, this deciding to count the blessings rather than the failures and heartaches…I struggle to do this, like anyone else.

    I agree, the childlike simplicity of this poem is what makes it great. I also love the photo you choose to pair with it.

      Thank you! Gratitude is so fleeting in our culture – I find that it is hard work to preserve it. There are so many things to be thankful for…

        Yes there is MUCH to be thankful for! And yes people are not very grateful, so this was a nice poem to read.

  7. Bina

    Love the picture!! The purple against the blue sky takes my breath away…as does the realization that all that is beautiful is a gift from above and should cause my heart to bend for Him as I thank Him.

      What a lovely way to put it… I agree with your interpretation of things! And thank you, Bina… 🙂
