In the spiritual life, our “I” is so because of the “we.” They contextualize and give meaning to each other. Sociologist Martin Buber describes it as the “I/Thou” relationship from which we find strength, purpose, and identity.
Oddly enough, I seldom feel lonely–God’s gift of creative imagination keeps my head pretty crowded with folks–good thing I’m not expected to cook for them! But yes, in the real world, it’s nice to stand next to someone.
We all share the same eternal breath, we share the same spirit, we share His touch of love and we are united as one in life…you are never alone. Beautiful poem my sister!
A beautiful and positive poem. I like the ending a lot. Need to open a door for friendship and opportunity.

What’s a…dixshunnairee?
i dunno. ( I think it’s a big book to help me understand your big high-falutin’ words!) π
You’re being punctiliously vituperative of my overwrought verbosity.
I’m wha? lol You crack me up. π I’d say it differently but I don’t know any other words than those… π
Your words are perfect the way they are. Don’t change ’em for my self-important lexical presumptions.

Lovely, Melody. Even the most independent people around need to touch shoulders with others once in awhile.
So true! We do need independence – but also need to know when and who to lean on. A tricky balance!
Love this! Whimsical, yet profound?!
Thank you! π I was attempting to play around a bit with conventions – glad you caught the shades and subtleties!
