“Crimson and lime”…What a superb combination! And perfect for Christmastime. I love it.
    Have a wonderful day.

Wonderful, Melody! I did a little gasp, as I realized you’re right–we’ll soon be looking at the tsunami of Christmas commercialization heading toward us–oh NOOO!!!

My LEAST favorite part of what was meant to be a very special season… *sigh* Or should I say ‘cha-ching’? *cash register*

It’s just a mess, isn’t it? Very addictive, and such a TRAP–and ultimately a heart-breaker, as people try to give “things” when what is needed is “heart” and “time”. No wonder there’s so much depression on Jan 1st…

So true. I am sensing a real rebellion against Christmas stirring – when it isn’t Christmas, but a gut reaction to the commercialism and blatant advertising grab for the Almighty Buck – when we should be grabbing the Almighty on His birthday! ;(

Preach it, Sister–Amen!! I’m actually feeling grateful to be “poor”–there’s less temptation to join the craziness!

Indeed! There is a growing movement toward the gifting of time and handmade treats, and giving what could have been spent to a worthy cause – something we have been moving towards for years already. We don’t gift much – I’m sure our kids would say otherwise, but they don’t know the true gift we are trying to give them yet! 🙂

I think it really does take maturity (as well as circumstances) to get to the place where we know the value of gifts. I love giving baked goods–and I really love the idea of donating to worthy causes. If it weren’t such a hassle for me to get to a post office to mail internationally, I would love to send you some fudge…so consider my thoughts your “gift”!

Mmmm – homemade fudge. *She smacks her lips rather ravenously*

Mmmm – homemade fudge. *She smacks her lips rather ravenously* And besides – you already checked off one person on your ‘list’ – a few months early! Are you ever off to a great start! 🙂

I’ll probably send an e-card, so be checking your email for it later on!

This one was perfect, Melody! How you capture these pictures amazes me. And the poem caught me by surprise and made me giggle! That is until the flyers start piling in! Thank you and God bless you!

Oh, good! It is an unfortunate reality of Christmas, the whole commercial thing – once in a while, I need a giggle, too, so it’s nice to take a break from deep thoughts now and then! 🙂
