You may feel that you are the odd man out,

a fish out of water,

a freakish anomaly;

Trendsetter,

set the pace.

Be the thermostat

in a world of

thermometers.

Be one with Galileo,

and accurately read the heavens

while conventions sleep.

We will follow your lead

into uncharted places,

where life’s secrets lurk

and

true beauty

runs red, a crimson tide…

I think it’s Lots More Fun–don’t know why that seems to be a well-kept secret…do you?

Being in the ‘crowd’ is highly overrated! Read an interesting article last week about how we ‘socialize’ children too soon – we tend to create children who aren’t secure in themselves and add to the probability of them becoming assimilated as a group. Interesting thought…I just know that somehow we are afraid of being the odd man out until we are really sure of who we are – then it doesn’t much matter! Age and wisdom sure seem to help!

Well, that’s true. I spent miserable decades not fitting in, feeling too strange for words. I had no “inner core” then–technically I was a Christian, but no “substance–infilling of the Holy Spirit”. And not enough “age” on me! Now I don’t worry about proving myself, or “popularity”–except when I get up and there are only 10 emails re my blog! Oh NO!

I tell my kids I am checking my blog to see if anyone ‘likes’ me… a guaranteed teen-angst eye-roll, if ever there was one, is sure to follow… 🙂
