Cold shoulders,
frigid stare;
numbed emotions,
glacial air.
Veins of ice
that chill to the bone –
frosty player
with soul of stone.

This piece marks poem 400! This was not begun as a poetry blog. But my readers enjoyed and supported my first attempts – and a poet has been born! THANK YOU!
love it … amazingly detailed image 🙂
Thanks Ben! I got out early to catch this one before the frost melted in the sun – love the veins!
its beautiful 🙂
Even frost, the enemy of the gardener, can be beautiful. A life lesson in there somewhere…? 🙂
hmm maybies 😀
Melody, you do an incredible job of mixing quality of word and verse in with the quantity you produce. Thank you for the wonderful pictures and poems.
Ivon
Thank you, Ivon! I appreciate that…
WOW-Wonderful on all counts, Melody! Spectacular photo, excellent “familiar” poem–congrats on reaching 400, and I am certainly glad for your poetry–and to meet a sister poet!! God bless you abundantly–love, Caddo
Thank you, my friend! 😀
Congratulations on reaching 400 poems! Well done.
Thank you! 🙂
Love this! 400? Amazing!
Thanks! I am amazed, too! 🙂
So wonderful! Enjoy the gift!
Thanks – I am! 😀
You didn’t start out to do poetry? And you are this good? So thankful those early readers encouraged you, now we all are blessed! 🙂
No, I sure didn’t – it never occurred to me! I do write songs for use in my church, so I guess that’s poetry but I never thought of it as such…
Congratulations, Melody, may there be many more poems from your soul. 🙂
Thank you very much! 🙂
Congratulations! This is a lovely poem too.
Thank you Imelda! 🙂
Congratulations on your 400th! You are a natural-born poet, Melody. It’s true. Things grow and bloom, you make poems. Right conditions – this blog?
Thank you so much, Maria – I really appreciate that high praise form a fellow writer! The whole blogging world has been a great venue, that’s for sure – for many besides myself, as well. How is your writing coming along?
My progress is slow…please pray!
Melody, I could sit at your feet and learn from you. I’ve been a poet for a long time…but feel I need to learn some new stuff. Ever thought about teaching about poetry on your blog? I am finally catching up on times past when my schedule was so busy I had no time to stop in. This morning has been so refreshing to linger and stay awhile at your posts! Thanks friend so sharing!
I am so honored that you are enjoying my work, Glenda! I haven’t thought about teaching, no – an interesting thought! ? 🙂
Melody,
In response to your comment about the broken system of foster care…Yes, but you and I know a God who can work around the system and bring healing to those broken places in people’s lives…Prayer changes things…will you pray with me for Gracie?
I certainly will – a subject near and dear to my own heart! God’s intervention is by far the best…
Congratulations of 400! Wow! Here’s to 400 more. 🙂
Thanks Kristina – I am sure enjoying the journey.. 🙂
