Time Will Tell

Time will tell – tally of suns and moons draws age spots on cheeks, fades spring blush, traces wrinkles in the parchment; and yet, in your death throes, you carpet the earth in sunshine. Time has told tales – days and nights of wonder, tear-stains over grass-stains in endless cycles of wash and wear madness;…

Time will tell –

tally of suns and moons

draws age spots on cheeks,

fades spring blush,

traces wrinkles in the parchment;

and yet,

in your death throes,

you carpet the earth

in sunshine.

Time has told tales –

days and nights of wonder,

tear-stains over grass-stains

in endless cycles of wash and wear madness;

secrets,

loves gained and lost,

progeny wiped and polished and applauded,

aches echoing pains in a comedy of errors.

What your final glory will be,

only

Time will tell.

        I like what your poetry evokes. It takes me somewhere emotionally. I’m an overly sensitive guy (maybe that’s why I’m a poet?) and require this.

        The world loves emotionally based men – we need ya! Go for it!

    I see it happening already…I embrace it. What else can I do? 🙂

      We really don’t have a choice – and longevity may come to those who adjust and accept the inevitable with the best grace…. You show the way! 🙂
