Lest Your Courage Slip

Hush, my heart, and do not fear the cold and weary days ahead; When comfort plummets, icy jeers will seek to lodge inside your head. Oust them with the surest hopes your seeds are safe in Heaven’s grip; Cling tenaciously – these ropes will keep you, lest your courage slip.

Hush, my heart, and do not fear

the cold and weary days ahead;

When comfort plummets, icy jeers

will seek to lodge inside your head.

Oust them with the surest hopes

your seeds are safe in Heaven’s grip;

Cling tenaciously – these ropes

will keep you, lest your courage slip.

    Melody, I’d love to see you expand on this one. It has a Psalmnic quality to it. I could almost use it in liturgy development.

      Wow – thanks, Rob. I’ll put it on my ‘to do’ list! 🙂

    I was given an opportunity to do a short repel many, many years ago. I was scared to death, but finally stepped off the edge, trusting the ropes. An image that has often helped me face those kinds difficult situations of trust through the years. Thanks for reminding me again.

      Good for you! It would take a big push to get me to repel… I admire your spunk!
