Ever the bridesmaid,
wallflower,
third wheel –
until tonight.
Chosen.
Sought out.
Pursued,
relentlessly romanced.
Delighted over,
enraptured by,
the Lover of your Soul
paints you beautiful,
veils you in Murano lace,
drapes your shoulders with diamonds,
parades you before your peers,
dressed head to toe in
His
Love.
Oooh. Lovely!
Thank you Charis! 🙂
I really, really, really like this one. Amazing picture, too. Did I mention that I like this one? 😉
*giggle* I think you DID, now that I think about it… 🙂 Thank you!
You have such a beautiful perception of nature, Melody. I could just sit and ponder this poem for hours. You are a very passionate writer. Glad I ran into your blog! 🙂 Eric PS- I was just in Venezia and Murano in September. But I fell in love with colorful Burano. I wish I could rent a flat there and write for a few years… 🙂
I was in Venezia last November – and never did get to any of those islands. Burano is on my wish list for next time around, Lord willing there is a next time. Can you imagine the wealth of inspiration there?
Oh, I wrote all sort of poetry about Venezia when I visited that are in my archives. I would love to play Ernest Hemingway in Italy for awhile. Who knows we poets could write there? Two or three books, I think! 🙂
🙂 Unfortunately I didn’t know I was a poet yet when I was there, so I never wrote a thing! 😦
All your images and poems are wonderful but this is exceptional 🙂
Oh, thank you so much! I appreciate those encouraging words…
Lovely write & ooooh what a view!
It was spectacular – I snapped as fast and furiously as I could! I haven’t had any time to edit and write yet – and you’ll notice I haven’t been visiting my ‘regular’ bloggers lately – sorry, crazy week – but I hope to drop by soon!
Love this one. The pic is great too.
Thank you! 🙂
Beautiful.
Thanks Daisy! 🙂 It was a moment, beneath those willows, with the crisp frost falling off and tinkling as it hit the ground….
Beautiful photo, beautiful verse.
Thank you very much! 🙂
Yes, I agree with all the others. This is really beautiful. Even your words are shaped like a dainty being.
Thank you! I didn’t set out to do a specific shape but I noticed it when I posted it – I’m glad you saw it, too! 🙂
Gorgeous truly
Thank you!
Wow Melody, this was so beautiful and encouraging! Loved it! Thank you!
Thanks Debbie!
WOW, exquisitely wonderful–where’s the cake?
Only Caddo… 🙂 I saved you some under my pillow – isn’t that what maidens do?
Of course, Caddo! Smooshed cake??!! That’s all I get, Smooshed cake??!! Okay, what about punch??
Will half a canape and a cup of coffee do?? 🙂
I’ll skip the coffee, but the canape sounds tasty–I’ve never had one! (At least it’s not the froz hockey net!!)
I have no idea what canapes are like – it just sounds like something I might eat if Caddo came for tea.. 🙂
You are too hilarious this morning!! You’d serve me something that you don’t know what it is?? You must really think I’d eat anything–which, sadly, is almost true…
Well, a Caddo visit would call for extreme measures. At least, some level of preparation. Hence the only logical food choice would be something out of my league. 🙂
Oh you’re so silly! I’m easily thrilled, impressed, amazed–so even a froz hockey net with plenty of REAL maple syrup would likely work!! I swear, just chatting with you everyday makes me so hungry!! Pavlovian Poets, eh?
That explains the bell…. *giggle*
