Bow Not to Defeat

Bow not to defeat, but to King; open mouth not to scream, but to sing. Bend only to pray, not give in; incline heart both without and within.

Bow not to defeat,

but to King;

open mouth not to scream,

but to sing.

Bend only to pray,

not give in;

incline heart both without

and within.

🙂 Thanks for still visiting when I’ve been so busy and absent from cyberspace! Life is a bit hectic right now, so I haven’t been able to take the time to reply and visit as much as I would like…

I think this is a problem we all have at some time or other. We, bloggers, do the best we can.

      2. melodylowes

True. I find blogging and reading so relaxing, I really miss it when I haven’t the time to do it. But there are other pressing things sometimes, and all must be done in balance somehow.

I so loved this one! Need to put it on my forehead as a sticky note. Or . . just ask God to write in on my heart. 🙂

😀 Sounds a lot kinder than my version – I sometimes feel that I need to STAPLE the sticky notes to my forehead…

      1. lylekrahn

I’m probably more in the stapling came too!!!

      2. melodylowes

Do you have the forehead ‘freckles’ to prove it?? 😉

  3. Caddo Veil

Oh, I love this one so much, Melody!! I’ll go with Sticky Note–stapling sounds like another headache just waiting to happen!

    1. melodylowes

It’s pretty hard to hide all the holes at parties, too…. Thanks, Caddo!

I guess they’re too red to be “beauty marks”, huh?

      2. melodylowes

Bahaha! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, no? 🙂

      3. Caddo Veil

        For sure!!

  4. Madilyn

Such a perfect verse for winter, Melody! Love the photo too. 🙂

    1. melodylowes

Thanks Madilyn! I’m so glad that even the winter can teach us in its rare beauty… 🙂

Melody, David could not have said this any better in a Psalm! And besides, he could not take such beautiful snow pictures… 😉

    Blessings ~ Wendy

*snicker* Not a lot on snow in Biblical accounts – I have enough experience with it to fill in some middle eastern gaps? 🙂 Thanks for the high praise, Wendy!

  6. Donna

Really needed this today! Thanks for sharing a great reminder in a beautiful way! God’s continued blessings for you….Donna

    1. melodylowes

Thank you so much, Donna. We all need encouragement, don’t we? May you be blessed as you meditate on His goodness this day…

  7. RoSy

    Amen to all of that!

    1. melodylowes

A bit harder to put into practice, perhaps – but true nonetheless! 🙂

      1. RoSy

It’s all about knowing & trying our best 🙂
