Shattered

peeling.jpg

Shattered, skin begins to peel,

Fractured, neurons fail to feel;

Fragments blister, lose their grip,

Smithereens abandon ship.

Underneath, as ย damage heals,

skin is soft, and raw, and real;

Tree lets go of what was dead

to grow in grace and truth instead.

      Aw, Mushy – I was just thinking about you, and thinking back over the lessons of the past few weeks. How grateful I am for the things that are being stripped away – painful, yes. But what is coming through is better skin – there is hope for me yet! ๐Ÿ™‚

    Pretty graphic images–and realistic. Have a blessed day–love, Caddo

  4. I believe that if we could see all things thru an eternal perspective, we would rejoice even in the demise of things, etc.

  5. Lovely photo and poem, Melody! I love the look of bark that peels and shows us what’s underneath… Sometimes we need to be ‘shattered’ so our ‘skin is soft, and raw, and real;’ I love this analogy! But I don’t enjoy its application. ๐Ÿ˜‰

    Blessings ~ Wendy

      I do too! I know you have also lost – and are raw underneath. But it seems that this new flesh contains more compassion, more mindfulness, more character. Something new and beautiful…
