All this work seeking specks on snow is chicken scratch,
for here I am,
grasping for crumbs under the table,
coveting the hem of Your garment
when I am an invited guest at Your banquet table.
I’m sewing a new patch on an old wine-skin;
rather than the patch,
I will put on my new robe,
garment of praise
more fitting for a Daughter of the King.
So dressed, I will rise up,
approach Your throne room with confidence,
and claim my prize –
more,
and more,
and more
of You –
double portion,
spilling over,
uncontainable,
glory following glory.
This seeking specks
is for
the birds…
I knew you had a ball gown in there somewhere!
I have a false compartment in my closet for special occasions… ๐
So long I have been satisfied with crumbs, believing the banquet was really for others far more worthy than me. I’ve approached the throne and generous Father with the timid attitude of Oliver, “More, please?” Oh the joy in casting off the question and claiming what is mine.
Amen to that, Tina, amen to that! What a lot of blessings have been stored up in cupboards waiting to be given out, and we haven’t asked… I rejoice with you in your new confidence! ๐
I agree–absolutely!!
I forgot to ask, do you know what kind of bird that is, Mel? I think it’s the same we have, but don’t know the name–
I believe it is a red poll… ??
Feast away, then! ๐
I LOVE it! Makes me want to praise and shout some. Thanks for this. Needed to be reminded.
Thanks so much! I need just as many reminders – believe me, I write to remind myself!!
Beautiful…
Thank you very much! ๐
Oh you are on a roll, here, Melody! Loving this one too! and amen-ing! Thank you and God bless you!
๐ Why, thank you, Ma’am!
Event hough I always knew how that was going to end, I still smiled. Very wry and sweet.
Wow, thanks. I’ll take it! ๐
Inspiring words so beautiful!
๐ Thank you!
Amen to that!
๐ Thank you…
