That tingling,
that raw, pounding pain
is the cost of coming alive.
She’s subsisted frozen,
a suspended non-animation
for so long,
the thaw comes at a price.
Blackened extremities
feel the pulse-surge
and scream in the flow –
but only the living feel.
Only the breathing palpitate.
Only the viable
thaw…
Now that has set me wondering? How does it feel to thaw? For a tree, I mean. If we put a frozen finger under warm water, it hurts.
I was taking photos recently and my fingers HURT when they got warm because of the extreme cold air – I wonder?
Powerful AGAIN, Melody! I’m all for thawing, even if it’s painful!
I am, too – and it is, Debbie – it is….
I just absolutely love these words, Melody. Not only do they apply to the tree, they also apply to my awakening. They give me an answer to a question I asked before I fell asleep last night. God surely works in mysterious ways. Bless you, dear friend.
Thank you Lizzie! I too am awakening – and the miracle is so lovely, it must be expressed! Thank you for sharing some of your journey with me…
Thawing brings a certain amount of pain and also reveals what’s underneath … thawing is good!
It certainly is! Thanks Heidi!
I believe i’m thawing everyday ! Spiritually ~
That’s a good sign… 🙂
