After tears, a grin, after loss, a win; as hope soars on love’s wing, after winter, spring. After darkness, light, after stumbles, flight; as battles fought are won, after rain blooms sun.

After tears, a grin,

after loss, a win;

as hope soars on love’s wing,

after winter, spring.

After darkness, light,

after stumbles, flight;

as battles fought are won,

after rain blooms sun.

    And I am so glad that it is so. By the way, did you realise that you had extra guests for luncheon yesterday? In my dreams last night you hosted me and my family to a wonderful meal in your home. I don’t know what we ate but it was good and you were smiling. ( Um, do you think I have been on the blog too much lately? :D)

      HA! That’s awesome! I’m smiling for real now!! 🙂

      A last minute change – glad my instinct as right! 🙂 Thanks…

        I love when that happens too!! Wowza.

    Beautiful words, dear Melody. We do indeed live in a world of opposites. Then again, without the darkness how would we recognise the light. Blessings, dear friend.

      Thanks! And you’re right – we sometimes need to experience an absence to truly appreciate a presence. Now – do I still call you Lizzie Joy, or Isabella?? 🙂

    This is a great message to remember when times are tough.

      I so rarely have this perspective in the ‘during’ – it is in the ‘after’ that perspective comes to call. I’d love to have a better attitude a bit earlier in the game! 🙂
      Thanks, Stephen!

    For three weeks now, I’ve been under the dark cloud of pain. Out of nowhere my body was consumed by nodules and swelling. Inflammation gone rampant. Relief finally came in the form of prednisone. My “after” has left me with a perspective and thankfulness that is off the scale. After is a really powerful word.

    1. melodylowes

      Ah, Tina – I’m so sorry that your journey has involved so much pain lately. Unfortunately the perspective of pain makes a great teacher – and no one really appreciates feeling well until we haven’t felt well! ‘After’ is a huge deal changer, isn’t it? Thanks for sharing…

    Seems you and I have been thinking along the same lines lately. I wrote a poem much the same yesterday and used it for today’s post. I guess we’re seeing the same things. 🙂

      Isn’t that funny how that works sometimes?? I’ll have to pop by and see where your thoughts took you. thanks Chris!

    “as hope soars on love’s wing” … your poem reminded me of the ultimate “After” … after this earth and all it’s sorrows, we are promised that all things are made new!!! Gotta make sure we look each other up when we get there!!!! 🙂

    1. melodylowes

      Absolutely!! What a delicious thought! I’m so glad we have so much joy to look forward to… Thanks, Heidi!!

      No problem! I have been very busy as well and have barely had time to post a poem here and there – I’ll have to pull up a chair and do some catch-up reading one of these days! Hope you’re feeling better soon!
