Long has she lain,
poisoned by an apple
that should never have reached Eden.
The kiss, when it comes,
stirs,
wispy, a dream that eludes
upon rising;
it revives the tender recollection
that she waits,
not for an awakening,
but for a
Resurrection.
A real beauty.
Indeed! The first of many to come, I hope. Spring has been incredibly reluctant – low temps and cold north winds are keeping things from greening up. But things can only go green from here!! ๐
Love the fairy tale take on this. ๐
I’m a fairy tale princess at heart… or could you already tell? ๐
The hope of Resurrection can sometimes be like a forgotten dream. Good to be reminded of it again. Enjoy your Spring!
Thanks Naomi – I love this season so much because of the hope that it plays out in living colour for us all. Enjoy yours as well!
… making the wait worthwhile.
Resurrection is always worth the wait! Thanks, Lyle. How are things in your neck of the woods? Wild and woolly (or feathery and furry?) I hope!
Hi, Melody. I would love to be able to include some of your poetry in my anthology titled Heart Whispers. Would you please email me at russtowne@yahoo.com to let me know whether you’d like to learn more about this project?
Thank you!
Russ
Sorry Russ – I’ve been run off my feet with work and extra-curricular stuff lately. this weekend I should be able to gather up some samples and send them to you. I would very much like to be included, I just haven’t had a moment’s time to do anything about it! The play I’m directing will have its final performance tomorrow night – I should be freer after that, I hope!
