You’re tough, I’ll give you that –
beneath those delicate petals are ribs of steel,
whale-bone corsets to hold soul together
as the frosts gather like vultures to the kill.
Is this the flavour of determination?
I will drink of its bitter-sweet potion,
its brackish thickness,
if it means that
I can grow a backbone, too.
Lord, give us steel backbones but delicate pearls of love to those around us. Light us up for Jesus sake and let us shine for your glory!
I couldn’t have said it better myself! π
Another Trio of Trifficness π
Wow – Triffic! I’ll take it! π

Wow, good strong message–and I love the vision of whale bone corsets. God bless you–love, Caddo
I wonder if anyone has marketed those yet? We could just be on to something, you think? haha
I loved the corset line too! Thanks for our encouragement today and good back bone advice! God bless you!
Thanks Debbie! π
Yea. I like this one, Melody. I also miss, desperately, “proper” English spellings of words. The pants off, anything goes, redneck English down here is thoroughly depressing.
We have our share up here, too – and to a teacher, there is much to cringe about. Ha – my Canadian spelling slipped through – I’ve been pretty consistently spelling for my proportionately larger American audience…good to know it is appreciated! π
I love your xray eyes that peer through skin to reveal the savoury soul beneath well done from one of your redneck fans
Wow – I have red-neck fans. Who knew… π
