The Web

The web you weave caught hapless fly, but now that I am grown, I spy the trickery in every strand, the feeding frenzy Evil planned; so – no thanks.  Invitations sent are recognized; their true intent has been exposed, so say good-bye to feeding on this wary fly…

Spider's Web Hens and Chicks

The web you weave caught hapless fly,

but now that I am grown, I spy

the trickery in every strand,

the feeding frenzy Evil planned;

so – no thanks.  Invitations sent

are recognized; their true intent

has been exposed, so say good-bye

to feeding on this wary fly…

Just the other day I was pondering on the lies I was told as child by the enemy of our soul … How good to grow up and see them for what they were … You make me think, friend 🙂

Childhood is not easily escaped scot free… I am in the process of hunting down some of the roots of lies I have believed – how delightfully freeing!

if you shall not fly spider’s way, would you go south, my way, one day? for said the spider to the fly, come to my parlor, with me lie, yet sunshine makes the spider die and truth and love all flies shall buy. 😉 E

This reminds me of not believing everything that what we hear or see…

    1. melodylowes

Absolutely! We need to be diligent in what we allow through our filters, that’s for sure…

Splendid photo and not a single fly trapped in those webs.

They are so beautiful! I bet my sister would die to have such plants (she is a big, big, big plant lover, her dream s a huge garden with succulents and cacti)
Is the web theirs or spiders’?

    1. melodylowes

Good question – these are actually a plant-generated web; they just grow like this! Fun, right? I love them! They grow in my garden. (Well, not today in a snowstorm – but they’ll grow eventually! ) 😦
