Celebration

Demure damask, ubiquitous ruffles cloak June’s exit and herald July’s approach, perfuming time itself. Petals will droop in tomorrow’s heat (for who of us can stand against the march?) but the scent of rosewater celebrates not yesterday or next week, but now.

A beautiful and timely one, Melody. We are expecting our first heatwave tomorrow…

We are, too, later this week. We will be glad in the days to come that we had all that rain, I think! Stay cool, Wendy! 🙂

I droop in the heat too.

We’re SO not used to it! 🙂 I tend to wither a bit in heat and humidity as well – I slow right down and get sluggish. I am one of those who prefers warm to hot.

Every season is magnificent beauty !

    1. melodylowes

Even the difficult ones – but we must have the eyes to see the beauty. Sometimes hard times strip away what holds us back from seeing the very beauty we missed when we were more self-sufficient, eh?

People are like grass; their beauty is like a flower in the field. The grass withers and the flower fades.(1 Peter 1:24) … lets make sure we grasp the moment … that’s what we have 🙂

Wonderful words, Heidi! hank you for adding your thoughts on this – I am truly trying to enjoy more of what I have been given, rather than wishing it were something it is not. It’s time to celebrate!

“Perfuming time itself”–WOW-Wonderful poem, Mel!! Yep, it’s me–new face, place, name…

Great gravy, girl. You’re like catwoman, slinking around in a disguise! 🙂 Welcome back…

      1. bennetta faire

        Catwoman? Oh dear me……

  6. Gallivanta

Hope the heat doesn’t wilt everyone and everything too much.

    1. melodylowes

This is more metaphorical right now, but I hear next week is going to be hot, hot, hot! Hopefully everything will be okay… 🙂

  7. lscotthoughts

Beautiful words, Melody, and I’m one of those drooping petals, as we’re having a heat wave! 🙂

Oh, oh – hang in there! 🙂
