Tether My Soul

Tether my soul, tie peace to my frame,

Make love my goal, steady my aim

That wherever I am, whatever I do,

Your presence in me would point others to You.

I love this–I especially love the idea that my soul is “tethered” to HIM!!

It is so wonderful to encounter people with that presence.

This made me smile on so many levels. First, I have a frosty soccer net in my back yard. A few weeks ago the grandboy and I braved the chilliness and muddy back yard to go and kick around for a half hour. Cocoa soon to follow. “)

Second, I just love this. It reflects the prayer of my heart. I am part of a ministry (similar to Emmaus Walk, called Koinonia) that shares encouraging mail/gifts with the participants. May I include this poem as my gift. I will heartily give you credit. I just was so blessed and want to pass the blessing along.

as a mom of three teen-age boys and having had various tethered nets in the yard and driveway … yes, it speaks to my heart … and makes me reflect on my goals and desire to be intentional in the season God has put me in … you made me smile! Thank you, dear!

Thanks for sharing this Melody! “make love my goal”..when soul is tethered and knit to God’s heart, His agape Love pours through to others.
